IF + present simple, ... present simple. 


If you heat water at 100 degrees, it boils.

Possible activities in the future


IF + present simple, ... will + infinitive.


If it’s sunny, we’ll go to the park.

Imaginary situations in the present or future


IF+ past simple, ... would + infinitive. 


If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house.

Imaginary situations in the past


IF + past perfect, ... would + have + past participle. 


If the weather had been good, we would have gone  water-skiing. 

MIXED

Present result of a past condition


IF + past perfect, … would + infinitive. 


If I had listened to your advice, I wouldn’t be in the mess.

Past result of a present or continuing condition. 


IF + past simple, … would + have + past participle.  


If I were a good cook, I would have invited them to dinner. 


Present Conditional = would + infinitive.  

Perfect Conditional = would + have + past participle.
