LA PALMA, LA GOMERA, EL HIERRO and LA GRACIOSA

Welcome to my review of the Canary islands. In this post I decided to unite the islands of LA PALMA, LA GOMERA, EL HIERRO and LA GRACIOSA.

People come to LA PALMA mostly to hike in its National Park Caldera de Taburiente, which is the most emblematic natural resource on the island of La Palma. There you can see the amazing wild life and enjoy the memorizing views from the several local view points such as Roque de los Muchachos mirador de la Cumbrecita, Cascada de Los Colores and more.

You can also visit the Museo Arqueológico Benahoarita (MAB)

And enjoy the beautiful beaches such as Playa de Nogales. La Palma is also a host of the local parties such as The Dance of the Dwarves (Danza de Enanos) and Los Indianos de La Palma.

The last volcanic eruption of the canaries happened in 1971 on the island of La Palma

Fun Fact: Some of the scenes of the popular Netflix series "the Witcher" were filmed in the rain forests of La Palma.

If you wanna hike in amazing prehistoric forests you should visit LA GOMERA. And check out the Garajonay National Park

Before you come to la Gomera check the dates of the local festivities and carnivals on the websites of the city halls San Sebastián de La Gomera and Valley Gran Rey

People come to EL HIERRO to do snorkeling, Bathe in Charco Azul, enjoy the view from Mirador de la Peña; And here you can find the one of the most isolated Hotel on the planet called Puntagrande .

During the days of the carnival the locals of el Hierro celebrate The Festival of the Carneros of El Hierro.

The last island with virgin sand beaches and beautiful views is LA GRACIOSA. It is the smallest and least populated of the main islands, with a population of about 700 people.
