Some think that Canaries formed the lost island of Atlantis mentioned in Plato’s works. Some say that they are part of the Isle of the Blessed from the Greek mythology. But what is known for certain, these islands are truly one of the most amazing places in the world.
The names are the main Canary Islands are TENERIFE, GRAN CANARIA, LANZAROTE, FUERTEVENTURA, LA PALMA, LA GOMERA, EL HIERRO and LA GRACIOSA
The Canaries are a group of islands in the Atlantic ocean. Famous for their beautiful weather all year around maintaining their temperature from 19 to 33 degrees Celsius. Giving us the true meaning of the endless summer. And amaze us with the Black sand beaches! In addition, in the Canaries you can witness an extraordinary nature with the examples of prehistoric flora such as Dragon trees. These islands are the great example of eco friendly enviroment reflected in the architecture which is flawlessly combined with their natural wonders.
First people who inhabited the islands were Guanches. You can find their remains in one of the museums of the island El Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre also known as Museum of Nature and Archeology (or MUNA). Spaniards colonized them in the 15 century and completely modernized the islands in European fashion.
