#2.Maresme coast The most touristic towns are Calella and Santa Susanna, there are a lot of hotels, bars, shops and discos. All good stuff that tourists love. If you wanna just enjoy some clean beach you can go almost anywhere in Maresme, places like Sant Pol de Mar, Pineda de Mar, and Ocata.
#3.Girona (province) and it’s famous Costa Brava. There you can visit beautiful towns such as Begur, Cadaques, Tossa de mar and Cap de Creus. Or if you like to party you can go to Lloret de mar. In the area you can also find 3 museums of Salvador Dali, beautiful medieval towns such as Peratallada, Santa Pau, Pals, Besalú, Beget, Camprodón, Banyoles, Calella de Palafrugell and more
My YouTube video:
#4.Costa del Garraf. Here we have nice little towns such as Gavá, Castelldefels, Sitges, Villanova i Geltrú, with sandy beaches and the water here is usually warmer than in Maresme but the beach is shallow and tends to be dirtier. There is also a Garraf natural park which is great for hiking.
#5.Tarragona (province) and La Costa Daurada or The Golden Coast. The capital city is Tarragona, famous for its medieval architecture and Roman remains such as the amphitheater, The Ferreres Aqueduct and the walls. The most touristic town is Salou, which is right next to a theme park Port Aventura.
#6.Freixenet headquarters - the largest exporter of cava. Just in case you wanna see how the cava is made It is located in Sant Sadurnà d'Anoia, an hour and a half west from Barcelona center by a car. It is recommended to book an excursion and check their deals in advance.
#7.Andorra. People come there to ski, shop in tax-free shops and enjoy their big spa resort called Caldea. It’s definitely the biggest spa resort I’ve ever been to. You can get to Andorra by bus only because trains cannot reach the country due to its mountainous terrain.
#8.Montseny - also called Switzerland of Catalunya because everything there is super beautiful and expensive.
More Suggestions (3+ hour drive):
- Valencia
- Madrid
- Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza)
- Sevilla
